Abstract In this paper, an ultra-broadband flexible polarization-insensitive microwave metamaterial absorber is proposed, characterized, and fabricated. To achieve high broadband absorption, a two-layer periodic indium-tin-oxide (ITO) patches array printed on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) dielectric layers used to generate ohmic loss. The simulation results show that the proposed can greater than 90% absorption in band range of 19.68 94.7 GHz. due symmetry structure with over wide incidence angle 60°. mechanism discussed by impedance matching theory, surface current distribution, electric field distribution. addition, equivalent circuit model utilized analyze effect structural parameters. Furthermore, bow-frame method validates experimental measurements are consistent simulated spectra. With advantages ultra-broadband, polarization-insensitivity, flexibility, facilitates its use numerous potential applications for energy harvesting, imaging sensing, stealth technology, modulating, so on.
